Miles Jesu Vinculum members are the married, single and widowed members who live in their own homes. “Vinculum” is Latin for ‘bond’, as there is a bond of unity in mind and in action among the diversity of our members. The stronger the bond, the more effective Miles Jesu becomes, spiritually and apostolically, as an instrument at the total service of the Church. Miles Jesu provides the essential principles to enable its members to live out their Catholic Faith more effectively, at home, and in the work place. In Miles Jesu we are all striving to be saints – heroic apostles. We say “striving” because the spiritual life and the lay apostolate are very challenging. We understand that the seemingly mundane jobs that we hold in the world, either at home or in the workplace, are how God wants us to sanctify our lives and the lives of those around us. Vinculum members fulfil a special function in the Institute, by bringing the word of God to people who otherwise not hear it or see it in action – through living their Catholic faith challenges of their daily lives, bringing their God-given talents and skills into play for the salvation of souls. Each one of us is a key for the salvation of many souls, starting with our own. This is the end of Miles Jesu, the restoration of all things in Jesus Christ, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
